Current Grant-Funded Programs

  • Rewarding Excellence in Instruction and Leadership (REIL) REIL is a five-year initiative of MCESA, funded by a $51.5 million U.S. Department of Education, Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) 3 grant. REIL is MCESA's flagship performance-based evaluation initiative.
  • Rewarding Excellence in Instruction and Leadership- The Next Generation (REIL-TNG) REIL-TNG is a five-year initiative of MCESA, funded by a $57.8 million U.S. Department of Education, Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) 4 grant. REIL-TNG built on the foundation of REIL and moved forward with an innovative approach to a human capital management system.
  • Engineering STEM Identity Engineering STEM Identity is a program funded by a three-year, $3 million Investing in Innovation (i3) grant, awarded to MCESA by the U.S. Department of Education. Through Engineering STEM Identity, approximately 2,300 students in ten rural and urban school districts will be immersed in STEM cultures to explicitly build STEM identities and positively influence their persistent in STEM.
  • Building Futures: A Second Act Building Futures: A Second Act is a program funded by a $1.5 million grant awarded from the U.S. Department of Justice and Delinquency Prevention. This initiative provides a youth and family focused approach to coordinate effective resources that will transform lives, reconnect youth, and result in a reduction in juvenile recidivism.
